I have started a new story on fanfiction.net called Tempting Fate.
It’s a Harry Potter fanfic about Regulus Black, please check it out!
I love reading Regulus Black fanfics, but one thing happens in almost all of them that makes me want to rip someone’s throat out. Everyone just assumes that Regulus chose to be a Slytherin. He. Did. NOT.
Let’s get something straight. Not every hero or good person has to be a Gryffindor. Slytherins are just as capable at being actual decent human beings. Examples? Severus Snape (shut up, I love him), Narcissa Malfoy (she freakin’ saved Harry’s life), Horace Slughorn (yes, pompous, but he fought VOLDEMORT) and last, but certainly not least, REGULUS FREAKIN’ BLACK!
Regulus was put in Slytherin, he didn’t choose it to please his parents. He was clever, resourceful, sneaky, and cunning. Sense when were those bad things? Plus, he was a BAMF.
He was an amazing person who did amazing things. And he was a Slytherin. People also say that Regulus died a Gryffindor’s death. Sense when do Gryffindors have a monopoly on dying for a good cause and sacrificing your own life to protect countless others? Oh, that’s right, they DON’T!
Regulus Arcturus Black was a Slytherin whose death was a middle finger to Voldemort’s face. Deal with it.
